Rumors are coming from several sources that Samsung is working on a budget variant of the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Rumors have surfaced that Samsung is preparing for release a more affordable version of its foldable smartphone Galaxy Z Flip 6. The new model, presumably named Galaxy Z Flip 6 FE, may be part of the company’s strategy to expand the audience of its innovative devices.

Korean blogger Yeux1122 reported that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 FE may appear on the market as early as next year. While details are still scarce, there are hints that the device will be launched alongside Samsung’s new generation of foldable smartphones, as well as the Galaxy S25 Slim, which is expected to launch in April.

In addition, a Twitter user under the nickname Jukanlosreve said that one of Samsung’s executives stated at an internal meeting of the company about the intention to lower the barrier of entry for consumers in the segment of sophisticated devices.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 FE is expected to retain many of the features of the base model. In particular, the device may be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor instead of the more expensive Snapdragon 8 Elite, which will help reduce the cost. The smartphone is also expected to receive a similar camera system and run on Android 16.

The release of a more affordable version of the foldable smartphone will allow Samsung to compete with other manufacturers that offer inexpensive foldable devices, such as the $499 Nubia Flip 5G. This can greatly expand the market and attract new users to folding screen technology.
